Physiotherapy exercises may also be employed to help you not only recover more quickly, but also help you to control and maintain the good results that have been achieved during your time at the clinic. Stretching helps keep you supple and strengthening makes you stronger so that you can cope with the physical stress and strain of everyday life whether it be work, home life, sports or hobbies.

In addition to our chiropractic treatment, we offer physio treatments and specialize in low level laser therapy, which aids in recovery and pain relief. Low Level Laser Therapy is very effective at reducing pain levels and speeding up the healing process for many conditions involving the soft tissues. Our team of specialists offers a proper course of treatment with a genuine concern for your long-term well-being.

Our modern clinic is located in Coventry and has good public transport links as well as an on-site parking. Our facilities are fully wheelchair-accessible. Click here to view our location map.

Acupuncture

Although commonly used in today’s western society, acupuncture has been used in China to treat a wide range of conditions for the last 1000-3000 years. There may be controversy as to how it actually works, but there is evidence to support that acupuncture stimulates both the peripheral and central nervous system, producing certain chemicals or neuro-transmitters that help to decrease pain levels.

Each needle used in the acupuncture treatment will be sterile, used only once and then sent away to be incinerated. Just to reassure people, the needles that are used in acupuncture treatments are very fine in diameter and nothing like a hyperdermic needle. A hyperdermic needle is basically a thin metal tube, which pierces the skin and then allows a substance to be injected or withdrawn. The needles used during an acupuncture treatment aren’t hollow, which means they can be much smaller in diameter. In fact some acupuncture needles are so fine that you may not even feel the needle pierce the skin.

The needles may then be left in or stimulated by turning them. This stimulation activates the body to restore balance and therefore speed recovery. In western terms, the needles are thought to be stimulating the nervous system, but in eastern terms, the needles are used at specific points along an energy channel or “meridian” to restore the balance of energy or “yin and yang”.

Here at Central Chiropractic and Physiotherapy Clinic, we have found that a combination of Low Level Laser Therapy and Acupuncture is very effective at reducing pain levels. Please refer to our section on “Cold Laser” or “Low Level Laser Therapy”.
